Happy New Year! If you read both my Art Licensing Info blog and this, my personal art business blog, you may recognize this post. But I want everyone to consider the concept of picking a verb to describe the coming year. Wishing you much happiness and prosperity in 2010.
VERBS have been coming at me from several directions lately and have caused me to stop and ponder…
My teacher, Alex Mandossian, asks his students to “proclaim their verb!” I ________, therefore I am! Some verbs from that class include teach, inspire, blog, nurture… mine is create.
Then local artist and entrepreneur coach Rebecca Shapiro suggested choosing a verb to define 2010 instead of making resolutions that would more than likely be forgotten or defeated by the end of January. I love this idea! SO watch this short video and pick a verb… feel free to leave your choice in the comments to inspire others.
Here’s to a creative and verby 2010!

The biggest challenge for me is in choosing just one. Create would work, but it seems off the mark a little bit…maybe “express” would work best for me this year. Although the obsessive compulsive in me wants to choose “plan” or “organize” haha but that’s the me I think I should be and totally NOT the me that I am!
Hi Tara, thanks for the info you left on my blog. Much appreciated! I agree with Dianne’s comment, so many verbs to choose from, but I think I will choose DELVE.
Love your words! “Delve” for Chris and Dianne – “Express” could include expressing your desire for order, right?
Here’s to a fabulous 2010!
Tara,
Thanks so much for the idea of choosing new verbs for who we are and where we’re at now. It doesn’t serve us to drag the old verbs into the new year when they don’t speak to us anymore.
Our verbs are:
Lorna: I Build, therefore I am
Pat: I Organize, therefore I am
Since we are currently building our business on organizing Social Media Relationships, Information and Knowledge, these verbs serve us well.
Thanks again… and wishing you a Cool and Prosperous 2010.
~ Pat and Lorna
